New product launch – Robotiq’s FT 300-S Force Torque Sensor

This week, Robotiq have launched their new Force Torque Sensor, the FT 300-S.

Sealed with an IP65 certification, the FT 300-S is designed to withstand conditions within clean, harsh or dirty environments. The main difference between the FT 300-S and its predecessor, the FT 300, is the IP65 rating, meaning it is protected from water.

Its Plug+Play nature makes this new force torque sensor easy to integrate and uncomplicated, in turn, making force control straightforward. To use the FT 300-S Force Torque Sensor, you don’t need a background in robotics. Its intuitive programming interface guides you through the steps to an efficient force-sensitive application. It is as simple as entering your task parameters, pressing play, and performing your application.

The FT 300-S can optimise processes in a multitude of applications, including:

• Insertion

• Pick & Place

• Assembly

• Quality testing

• Machine tending

• Finishing

Built for compatibility with Universal Robots CB series, its fully metallic hardware is suited for industrial needs as well as high precision tasks. It is also handy, that the Force Copilot programming software is included with the sensor, which means you can gain access to applications that need force-torque feedback.

The main benefit of this new force torque sensor to take away, is its ability to increase precision and repeatability within the most advanced force-sensitive applications.
